I'm calculating price elasticity, QTY, and revenue. But I don't understand why price point 2 + 1,8 + 1,6 etc are negative values. Can anyone explain the logic here? I can forward the Excel file upon request.enter image description here

Thanks Thomas

  • Can you copy the values of the QTY´s into the question? In general it is because the rel. change of the quantities is negative which is $\large{\frac{\Delta q}{q}=\frac{q_1-q_0}{q_0}}$ But I can´t say why the sign is flipping from row to row at the column QTY. – callculus42 Nov 18 '20 at 16:00
  • Thanks for your reply. I have included all QTY values now. For price, it goes from 0-10 jumping one decimal at a time (0,1 , 0,2, 0,3 etc) – thomasuponor Nov 19 '20 at 07:58
  • As I said: "I can´t say why the sign is flipping from row to row at the column QTY" In reality negative quantities doesn´t make sense. I can only say how the %-changes have been calculated. – callculus42 Nov 19 '20 at 08:40
  • it seems like when column G hits -100% the problem starts. – thomasuponor Nov 19 '20 at 16:16
